Full Description

Great Higham Farm is a development of a range of traditional buildings providing accommodation for up to 34 people in a farm yard setting on the north face of the North Downs in Kent, with rolling downland to the south and orchards, and the Thames Estuary to the north. It forms part of a traditionally managed family owned estate, and is surrounded by orchards, arable ground and traditional Kentish chestnut coppice woods full of bluebells in spring.
Within the Torry Hill farm yard is a heated outdoor swimming pool which is in use from April to October and a tennis court. The entire complex is heated by a state of the art biomass boiler, which uses woodchip from wood from the surrounding land. This carbon neutral installation won the South East of England Renewable Energy Award in 2006.
Great Higham Barn is a listed 17th century Kent aisled thatched barn that has been sensitively converted into spectacular accommodation for up to 22 people. The hall is dominated by a huge specially made table, which will seat up to 30 for parties or special occasions.
Great Highm Oast is a beautifully renovated Oast House which is of historical interest containing within later brick walls the wooden frame rock work of a very early and rare rectangular oast house.  The Oast House, which sleeps 10, is spacious and light with a wonderful open plan kitchen, dining and living space with doors onto the sunny south facing patio surrounded by box and lavender.
Cherry Cottage and Plum Cottage are a pair of new barn conversions that have recently been renovated to create two charming holiday cottages, which can be rented separately or together (an interconnecting door can enable them to be rented as one large unit). The cottages are in a lovely peaceful setting in glorious countryside on the North Downs.
