Situated on Wyn and Ian Gargate’s 17 acre farmland and maintained to a very high standard, stone-built Brock Scar Cottage is converted from what was originally a farmworker’s cottage, byre and hayloft.

The cottage is totally self-contained to guarantee absolute privacy, but Wyn and Ian live nearby and are always close at hand if you need advice on where to go, what to do, or what to eat.
Ideal for groups and families, this non-smoking cottage has been restored to a comfortable standard and sleeps four people.

  • sitting room with beamed ceiling and stone feature fireplace with electric fire

Historical Connection

The letters 'R.R.' and a date of 1853 are carved above the main door. Ian thinks that this probably refers to a previous renovation project - ie.'Re-Renovated' - so the cottage could be far older than the date initially suggests. It is rather nice to think of an earlier young couple moving in with exciting plans for the future of their newly acquired cottage!
