Full Description

Rabbit’s Bothie is in the conservation area at the heart of the Tennyson Mile that runs from the lifeboat station at Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight, to the Victorian poet laureate’s home at Farringford. It is perfect for two.
The holiday cottage is close to sites of special scientific interest (SSIs) and National Trust coastline, and within the area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). This corner of the Isle of Wight is very popular with ramblers who use the bus and walk.
Popular attractions close to the bothy include the thatched-roof church, St Agnes, and the museum of photography at Dimbola Lodge, home of pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron. Sheltered on both sides by soaring white cliffs, the bay has smugglers’ caves, dramatic rocks and a sandy beach at low tide.
The Cottage
As guests in our private house your personal comfort is our first concern. We aim to make you feel at home, but with a suggestion of hotel service.
The ground-floor property, to the rear of the main house, Rosedale, is approached through the owners’ front garden and is part of the main house with bedrooms above.
The cottage has a new kitchen with sink, electric cooker, microwave oven, extractor, fridge and freezer. A utility cupboard has a washing machine and tumble dryer. The sunny living room at Rabbit’s Bothie has a double bed-settee and dining area. The comfortable bedroom is furnished with linked-twin single beds that have separate mattress toppers and duvets, wardrobes, a hair dryer and alarm clock. The shower-room has a walk-in shower, sink, bidet and thunder-box toilet with high-level cistern.
Included in the rental price are all linen, towels, crockery and cutlery for up to four guests.
For your comfort and entertainment we have broadband (wifi), books, games, DVD player and wide-screen LCD TV with Freeview.
The private seaside country-style garden has a small pond, gravel paths and courtyard, verandah and some steps. Visitors are invited to pick herbs.

Eco Friendly

Here at Rabbit's Bothie we have tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
There are low-energy lightbulbs throughout our property which is also super insulated. We have recycling facilities for guests to use and we are actively encouraging wildlife to visit our gardens.
We encourage guests to try and save energy where possible when they are on holiday, and also think about their carbon footprint by cycling and walking where possible rather than using the car. We provide two travel cards for free travel on Island buses including the seasonal Needles Breezer and Island Coaster.
